My Favorite Getaways :: Western Catskills

Hi friends!

I’m so excited to share a brand new roundup of cozy getaways with you! Some of you may remember last year’s collection spanned a broader area in the Northeast - this season I focused in on the beautiful Western Catskills in my home state of New York.

First stop on this Western Catskills road trip is Callicoon Hills . This century old resort operates as both lodge and venue space - making it an ideal setting for weddings and events. With a cafe, beer garden, and restaurant (the Conover Club is a must visit!) on site, we stayed put during our stay! The room was quaint and cozy, but the grounds are where we spent most of our time. With hiking trails, plenty of outdoor seating, fireplaces, and a pool during the warmer months, there’s plenty of space to stretch out and explore.

If you’re looking for more of a secluded getaway, Little River is the PERFECT cabin. Located a short drive from the infamous Hawks Nest vista, this retreat is truly the definition of Serenity Now ! Suitably named for the babbling river that runs alongside the property, this storybook home is all modern charm.

With two bedrooms and three beds, this property can host up to six guests. I loved the spacious loft upstairs, and the accompanying bedroom was cozy personified. Maybe it was the background noise of the river at night, but I slept SO WELL during our stay here. The outdoor shower, dining table, and fire pit make it just as cozy outside as in. You can book it via Airbnb HERE.

If you’ve been following along on my adventures for awhile, you may recall my visit to the incredible Black A Frame last holiday season. The owners have since expanded to include two more amazing A Frame properties, most recently the Tiny Black A Frame !

This tiny cabin can host up to two guests (ideal for couples wanting a romantic getaway - or as a peaceful solo trip!). While the interior may be cozy, the floor to ceiling windows truly make you feel like you’re a part of the beautiful surroundings. You can book your stay via Airbnb HERE.

P.S. All three of these stays are close to incredible communities - make sure to take time to check out Callicoon, Livingston Manor, Roscoe, Bovina Center, and Narrowsburg.

While this next lodging isn’t technically in the Western Catskills, I’d be remiss not to include it in a roundup! It’s long been my favorite place in the region, and at this point feels more like a home away from home. I’ve shared Scribner’s Catskill Lodge

I swear every time we come back to Scribner’s, the accommodations get more relaxing. With spacious mountain view rooms (we stayed in one of the Bungalow King’s), delicious on-site food from The Prospect -serving breakfast and dinner, and the most inviting lobby space, they make even this ski bum excited for future après-ski hangs! If you’re not heading to the mountain, the sauna and their newly reopened ice skating rink are the perfect ways to celebrated the winter season. To book your cozy stay, head to their site HERE .

I had such a blast exploring this part of my home state. New York is so massive, there’s still so many pockets I’ve yet to visit! Hope these listings get you excited to plan your own getaway to the Catskills.
